The Fly

Walt: Communicate the theme of the text via static image

Task Description
Hi, my name is Caleb, and welcome to my blog. In this task, I do work on the text, The Fly. The Fly is about a man called The Boss, who is visited by an old man named Mr Woodifield. Mr Woodifield tells the boss that his daughters have been to visit Belgium to see where their sons were buried. The men both lost their sons in WW1, six years ago. After Mr Woodifield leaves, The Boss tries to cry about his son, but he cant. He then saves a fly from an inkwell, but drops more ink on it to see if it will survive. In the end it dies.

We went into a lot of detail in this text because there is a lot of deeper meanings.

The Three Little Barbecue Sausages

Once there lived Three Little Pigs, one day, while they were out shopping, the Big Bad Wolf came out of nowhere, and took the Three Little Pigs to his cave. When they were in his cave, the Wolf cooked the pigs on the barbecue, and made Three Little Sausages.

The sausages were hot, so he decided to blow them out. He got the first sausage, and said “and a huff, and a puff, and i’ll blow this heat out”, and then the the sausage was a good temperature, so he ate the first one. The Wolf got the second sausage, shouted “and a huff, and a puff, and i’ll blow this heat out”, and then ate the deliciously nice and warm second sausage.

Then the Wolf turn to last sausage, said “and a huff, and a puff, and i’ll blow this heat out”, but the sausage was still hot. He blew it again and again, but it was still hot. It was so hot that it melted the Wolf, and so no one lived happily ever after.

DNA

DNA, Chromosome, and Genes are related. How?

You have trillions of cells in your body. You can only see them under a microscope. DNA is in Chromosomes and Genes. We have 23 sets of Chromosomes. All chromosomes have different information. DNA is made up of 4 bases, T, C, A, and G. The bases are like letters. Certain bases can only go with certain bases. T and A go together, and C and G go together. 3 bases go together to make Codons. Codons are like words. When codons come together, they make genes. Genes are like chapters in a book. 2 Genes make a Chromosome. Chromosomes are like books.

Onion Cell

Aim: The aim is to clearly see what Onion Cells look like.

Hypothesis: I think at 100x, we will be able to clearly see the Onion Cells.

Equipment:

Onion
Slide
Blue Dye
Tweezers
Cover Slip

Method:

1. We put the peeled of Onion Skin by using the Tweezers to get of the tiniest bit of Onion off.

2. Then we put that skin on the slide, and put the Sodium Chloride, and Blue Dye on it.

3. Then we put a Covered Slip on it, and then put that on a Microscope.

Conclusion:
At first, we couldn’t see much apart from white with black dots. Then when we focused the Microscope, we could see the organelles inside, mainly the Nucleus. Search up onion cells and you will see what we saw.
